COMPLAINTS FROM CHINESE. GUIDES FOR VISITORS OBJECTIONABLE. United Press Association—Copyright SAN FRANCISCO, August 15. Chinese declare that six companies are practically the governors of Chinatown in San Francisco. They urge the city authorities to suppress the guides conducting tho visitors thither. They declare that the guides maintain opium dens, and pay Chinese to smoke opium in order to enhance tho value of their services. They promise that the offensive features will disappear if the guides are suppressed.
