POVERTY BAY HUNT CLUB’S RACES.

The Poverty Bay Hunt Club’s annual races will be held on the Park raceoource to-morrow, when a programme of six events, including; two open handicaps, will be submitted. Iho first race will start at 1.30 o clock, and a special train for the course will leave the Gisborne railway station at 1 p.m. Mrs Erskine will provide luncheon and afternoon tea. Bookmakers will be licensed, and as the fields promise to be large in numbers the meeting should be most successful. POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB. The programme of tho spring meeting of the Poverty Bay Turf Club, to be held on the Makaraka racecourse on Thursday and Fridya, October 28 and 29, is published in this issud. Nominations will close at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday, October 2. Entries will close at 9.30 p.m. .on Saturday, October 16, on which date weights will be declared for the First Hurdles and the Spring and Flying Handicaps. The weights for the Trial Handicap, First County Stakes, Welter Handicap, and First Hack Flat Handicap are to be declared on Saturday, October 23, and those for the second day’s events at 9.30 p.m. on Thursday, October 28. Acceptances are to close on Saturday, October 23, at 9.30 p.m., and on Thursday, October 28, at 10 p.m.
