CHINESE COMPETITION.
Mr Millar would surely be wiser if. lie put himself into a position for dealing with the whole question .next session. The question will gain nothirio; by delay and nothing .by piecemeal ment. As a preliminary, wo suggest that as the Labor Department takes cognisance of shops as well as factories, the inquiry which : the Minister has instructed his officers to imdertake should be extended, so as to include factories and shops of all kinds. A report on every aspect of Chinese competition would be a valuable. document, which Mr Millar should be glad to have on his file, even if he has as yet ,no intention of facing the whole question next session, as we should like to £® e him “Evening Post.” . >
