The Huddart-Parker Co.’s Victoria arrives this morning from south, and proceeds to Auckland and Sydney. The Tuatea leaves the wharf at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. The following have booked passages: —For Auckland Air. and \frs telair Air. and Airs. Grubner; for Sydney— Mr. and Airs. Gratton and two- children. . , . The IT.S.S. Co.’s Squall arrived in Ibe Bav from Auckland and Tologa Bay on Thursday afternoon, but did not get iip the river till yesterday morning. Unloading operations were carried on during the day, and she was ready to leave for Aueklad last night, hut owing to the state of the river she was delayed and will leave this morning. The Squall left Auckland at 10 p.m. on the 17th, and arrived at Tologa at 5 a.m. on the 19th. She left for Gisborne at 8.40 a.m. and arrived in the roadstead at 1.45 p.m. the same day, and came up the river yesterday morning. Westerly winds and seas were experienced throughout the voyage. The cargo was as follows: 48,073 ft timber, 110 bags lime, 25 cases benzine, 15 cases naphtha, 30 sacks flour 70 hags cement, 20 hoses soap, 410 bags sugar". 50 cases candles, 82 cases spirits. 15 cases kerosene, 20 reels wire, 100 sacks pumice, 60 sacks coal, 15 bales kapok, 2 bales wool, 70 tons cargo (overcarricd by s.s. Wanaka), and a large quantity of sundries. The cargo includes transhipments ex Berlin, Zieten, Satara, and Kanowna. The auxiliary schooner AVaiapu arrived yesterday morning from Auckland, via Coast ports, after a voyage occupying 17 days. The vessel left Auckland on the 4th, and ran into bad weather when crossing the Bay of Plenty, which necessitated her sheltering for three days under Oreti Point. Strong westerly winds and heavy seas were encountered when East Cape was rounded on the 11th, and the vessel ran back to Kawakawa, where she sheltered for two days. After another start was made fine weather was experienced for the remainder of the voyage. The various coast ports were worked, and a large quantity of cargo landed. The cargo for Gisborne consists of 27 tons of coal and a quantity of timber. The scow Waikonini crossed to the Kaiti side of the river yesterday morning, where the cargo of timber is being unloaded. The Canterbury Shipping Co.’s s.s. Ripple arrives from south this morning with a cargo of produce. She returns to Lyttelton in the evening. * Captain Hawkes resumes command of the Tuatea this morning. Captain Ross is waiting for orders. The U.S.S. Co.’s Monowai arrives -from Auckland to-morrow, and continues her voyage south in the evening. The Tuatea will leave the w’harf on arrival and again with outward pas-, serigers at 7 p.m., being delayed »n account of the state of the river from leaving at the usual hour, 5 p.m.
