Kent’s second century -was hoisted in 160 minutes.- Mason and Prest (not Preston), during a nartnership lasting 40 minutes, carried the total to 246. The former was caught in the slips off Noble’s first over after the tea adjournment. He gave a chance Armstrong, off Noble, when he had scored 26. Whitty resumed bowling at 262, and the first over, without addition to the score, lie secured both Prest’s and Huish’s wickets. Prest played resolute cricket.
