It is officially announced at Capetown that the Government and Admiralty have abandoned the search for the Waratah. , H [lt is considered probable (hat this has been done because so many merchant vessels are keeping a look out.] A HOPEFUL SUGGESTION. ANOTHER. STEAMER MAY BE ASSISTING THE WARATAH. (Received August 22, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 22. It is suggested that the steamer Madagascar, bound for East London, is probably assisting the Waratah, as she would cross the current wherein the Waratah. is perhaps drifting.
