A ballot by the Typographical Society on the question of ceasing work on September 4th, in furtherance of a demand for £3 per week as a minimum for compositors and letterpress machinists, resulted in a large.majority being; in fa-, vor of pressing- the demand. The position. now is that-unless the concession ismade before August 31st the men cease work on September 4th.
