THE WRECKED WAIPARA
SPLENDID DISCIPLINE SHOWN.
THE STEAMER BEACHED.
United Press Association —Copyright BRISBANE, August 27.'
There was splendid discipline aboard the Waipara. The boats were swung out and lifebelts served, out in a few minutes. The vessel had hardly gathered way after discharging the pilot when she struck. The pilot immediately boarded the vessel again, and drove the steamer on the beach two miles distant. Fortunately the water did not invade the engine-room, and permitted the beaching to be done. There was no excitement among the passengers.
