BRASS BAND CONTEST.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
[Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, August 30. A meeting of the committee appointed to make arrangements for the North Island Brass Band Association 1910 contest was held to-night, when a subcommittee reported that £7OO had been guaranteed by local tradesmen. The following prize-list was adopted: A grade, £IOO. £SO, and £25; B grade, £SO. £25, £ls, £lO, and £o; Quickstep £4O, £2O. and £10; grand total, £350. The question of inviting an Australian band was discussed, but nothing definite was done. It was resolved that the Association be approached with a view to having the disqualification of tlie Wellington Garrison Band removed.
