HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE.

The hemp market is firm, hut not advanced. Business is dull, and New Zealand offerings are very small. New Zealand good fair grade, on spot, per ton, £25 15s; New Zealand fair grade, on spot, £24 15s; fair current Manila, on spot, £25 10s; September to December shipments, New Zealand good fair grade, per ton, £24 10s; fair current Manila, £24 15s. The Manila output for the week was 30,000 bales. The cocksfoot seed market is steady, but the demand is only moderate. Bright, clean New Zealand is quoted at 665. . . The hop market is firm, and prices continue to advance. The English crop is small, and of poor qualitv. The market prospects are favorable. English is quoted at 90s, and American at 100 - , , The wheat market is weaker, and there is a tendency downwards on account of the English crop having been slightly damaged.
