THE WEATHER
The following is the Rev. D. C. Rates’ weather forecast: —Dull and cloudy, weather will probably precede heavy general rain. Northerly winds, strong to gale, prevailing, with a fur.ther fall of the barometer in the southern districts within the next four clays. Snow -will probably fall heavily on the high country in the South Island. An extensive area of low pressure prevails between .New Zealand and Australia, and is travelling e'hst- „< ward, with very unsettled weather.
