THE TOWN IN DANGER. [Per Press Association.) NELSON, August 31. A serious flood is being experienced at Motueka, where the heavy rain caused the Motueka River to break its banks to-day. Hundreds of pounds’ worth .of damage has been done to the protective works at Whakarewa. It is still raining heavily, and there is danger of the river making another breach through what is known as the Blind River Channel, in which case the position of the town will be serious.
