THE UNEMPLOYED.

MARKET BECOMING NORMAL

[Pee Peess Association.] WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. The unemployed difficulty is ra£?dly on the mend, judging by the facts in the possession .of the Hon. J. A. Millar (Minister of Labor). Mr. Mibr informed a “New Zealand sentative to-day that work was getting much more plentiful. Reports received from the Labor Department’s branches all over the country indicated that the labor market was becoming normal again. “So the crisis is over?” queried the pressman. “There never was any crisis,” answered Mr Millar. “A slight increase of unemployment this winter was accentuated by an inducement _ to come to the towns, thus concentrating the out-of-works at two or three centres. Whatever little difficulty there was is disappearing, and the outlook is favorable for a good spring. Men are leaving public works all the time because they are able to find other employment.’ ’
