HEROIC ACTION OF NUNS. United Press Association —Copyright. YORK, Sept. 1. There were ten deaths caused by the fire at St. Malaebi’s Home, Long Island, U.S.A. Six hundred children escaped. The nuns literally dragged 200 children out of the burning buildings. Sisters carried 65 babies from the smokefilled nursery, taking two in each arm, from the cots to the staircase, whence four elder girls carried them to the yard. '
