The Rev. W. "C. Oliver, speaking at Christchurch, told an interesting story, illustrating the habit of a herd of doer to post sentinels. He said that on ono occasion, while stalking in “The Dingle,” (Canterbury) he came upon a herd, the only means of access to which was along a certain hillside. An old hind had been posted on that hillside us sentinel, and he began to vvatch her at nine o’clock in the morning, hoping she would get tired and rejoin the herd. The hind stood there, as motionless as a rock, until noon, when his hopes were realised, and she went back in tho direction of the herd. At once a stag came out and subjected her to very violent treatment, driving her'back to her post, where she remained until four p.m., at which ■ hour Mr. Oliver gave up his vigil in disgust.
SORES THAT REFUSE TO HEAL. Sometimes sores are found that refuse to heal up. A small amount of pus is daily discharged, but the sore itself remains in a stationary condition. It is suffering from weariness, and requires stimulating into activity, otherwise it may become chronic and grow larger. Rexona, the Rapid Healing Ointment, is particularly applicable to a case of this kind. Mrs. E. Fletcher, 83 Newman Street, Newtown, N.S.W., writes: “My little boy had a terribly sore toe, which prevented him walking. The sore refused to heal for several months, although we tried every remedy we could think of. We at last tried Rexona/ and it began to heal at once, and in five or six days there was not , a mark left.” Rexona is sold in triangular pots at Is 6d and 3s. Obtainable everywhere.
