~ SLY-GROG SELLING. . " [Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, September 6. At the Police Court to-day, Charles Cunningham, of the New Idea supper room, Tory street, was fined £lO on each of two charges' of sly-grog Belling on Sunday. Officers in plain clothes, who were served with liquor, said that 20 or 30 men were sitting at a table on Which were half empty bottles and glasses. BREACH OF AGREEMENT. CHRISTCHURCH, September 6. Mr Haselden, S.M., to-day gave judgment in the* oasse of Money v. Bartlett, in which plaintiff sued for £62 damages for breach of agreement,, having been engaged as editor of the-weekly paper “Daylight” for 6 months at £4 per week, and dismissed after 10$ weeks with week’s- wages’ in lieu of notice on tne plea of incompetencv. The Magistrate held that incompetency has not been substantiated, and gave judgment xoi £4O and costs. SUNDAY BAND CONCERTS. The Citv Council to-night decided t 6 hold a band contest between the bands engaged to give municipal concerts on Thursday evenings. The Council rescinded its previous decision, andjdecided to sanction the holding of openair band concerts on Sundays. • .
