Co.’s Squal] left Auckland at 9 o’clock on Monday evening for Gisborne, via Tologa Bay. The famous fleet of the London County Council has now been disposed of. These vessels, thirty in all, were specially built on the Thames in 1905 at a cost of about £6500 each, or a. total of £195,000, and they have now been disposed of for £18,204, or less than 10 per cent, of their original cost, tlie prices ranging from a little over £IOOO each for the first lot to under £4OO each for the last fourteen. A sailing ship “ownery,” entitled “Shippers’ Clipper Line,”’ has been formed at New York for the purpose of working service with large sailers of modern type between New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.
