GENERAL COUNCIL. [Per Press Association'.] ■WELLINGTON, Kept. 9. The concluding sitting of the General Council of the New Zealand Christian Endeavor Union was held this afternoon.

There was some discussion in respect to the projected correspondence (school, ft was resolved that for the six classes in the course different examiners bo appointed, representing the respective provinces. The following appointments were made: —Auckland, Mr. W. FI. Newton; Wellington. Rev. AY. iShirer: Canterbury, Air. G. Gobbie; AA>st Coast. ReV; J. C. Jamieson; Otago, Rev. J. Knowles Smith. The appointment of the sixth examiner was left to the executive. A motion was carried regretting that unforseon circumstances would prevent Dr. Chapman and Afr. Alexander from visiting New Zealand at the close of their Australian tour. The Council expressed pleasure at the prospect of seeing them hero in 1911. Afr? C. R. N. Alackie was deputed to act as the Council's representative to the Christian Endeavor Convention at Aura this year. ft. was resolved that in the three centres other Hum AA'ellington, efforts should be made to establish magazines, similar to the AVellington “Christian Endeavor Advocate.” The secretary reported that the “increase banner” had been won by the North Otago Union. Instructions were issued to the executive to endeavor to form unions in the provinces of Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, and Taranaki. It was recommended that tho president should visit parts of the Dominion during his term of office, the expenses to be borne by the unions visited, five should make arrangements for t;vc [should make arrangements Jor suitable insignia to be handed on to each incoming president. In connection with next convention, it was agreed that in the event of the constitution proving unworkable with reference to the place of meeting, the executive be directed to arrange for its being held in Auckland.
