A select committee on imprisonment for debt report against its complete abolition, as the threat of imprisonment is the only argument with a certain class of debtors. The committee propose the reduction of the statute of limitations to three years, instead of six They recommended that imprisonment he not permitted in usury and betting cases. ' v - !
