GRADER FOR HAWKE’S BAY.
(Ter Press Association.! 1 HASTINGS, Sept. 11. A deputation of dairv farmers urged the Minister o:f Agriculture to appoint a butter (grader for Hawke’s . I|ay, stating that it would mean a saving of half-a-crown per cwt if it obviated sending butter to Wellington to be graded. The Minister replied that he hardly though the district’s output warranted the appointment, but the Hon. J. Carroll had mentioned that a grader was wanted for Poverty Bay, and if one was appointed they might extend the duties to include Hawke s Bay It this could be done without entailing much extra expense he would favorably consider the suggestion.
