COMMERCIAL.
STOCK SALES. Messrs Williams and Kettle yarded about 30 horses at their weekly sale on Saturday. Bidding was slow, but a fair number were disposed of. Hacks sold from £3 5s to £lO, and harness horses from £5 2s 6d to £ll. A buggy was also sold for £l4. PRODUCE SALES. Messrs F. S. Malcolm and .Co. report the following prices at their produce sale on Saturday morning: —Fowls from 2s to 2s 3d, roosters 2s to 2s 6d, eggs lOd and 11 doz, butter lid lb, lemons 6d doz, oranges 8d doz, Tasmanian apples 13s 9d case, bananas 7s 6d case, cauliflowers 2s to 4s doz, cabbages 3s 6d sack, onions Id to 2d lb, maize 3s 6d bushel, southern potatoes £6 ton, small vegetables as usual. A well-attended furniture sale followed. FROZEN MEAT. Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. report:—Our London agent advises us that sales of lamb ex ship have been made during the- last few days at gratifying increases over last prices obtained, and that there was a demand for mutton for forward shipment at prices considerably above spot equivalent.
