ALLEGED THEFT
Bert Barry Farley, of Gisborne, was charged with having stolen £l2, the property* of Hugh Nicholson, on the 14th inst. Detective Rawle asked for a remand till Saturday, which was granted, bail being allowed, tbe accused in £SO, and two sureties of £25. CIVIL CASES.
Judgment in undefended cases was given as follows : —Official Assignee of Enoch Richards (Mr. F. W. Nolan) v. TV. Darvill, £7 4s sd, and £1 15s 6d costs; Official, Assignee (Mr. Nolan) v. Harry Patrick Seymour, £23 18s, and £3 6s costs; Cook County Council v. Thos. Long, £l4 Os 4d, and 17s costs; William Joseph 'Buttimore (Mr. H. Bright) v. Patrick John Hofen, £7 15s, and .£1 3s 6d costs; Louisa Morris (Mr. L. T. Burnard) v. Ernest John West, order for possession of property and £2 14s costs. , JUDGMENT SUMMONSES.
In the following judgment summons cases the ensuing orders were made: Post and Telegraph Department (Mr. F. W. Nolan) v. Ernest John West, order for payment of £3, 17s 3d forthwith, or four days’ imprisonment; Elsie Lindergreen (Mr. H. J. Finn) v. William James Williams, order for balance of debt, and costs £5 12s, or six days’ imprisonment; Walter Wilson (Mr. G. Stock) v. William Moore, an order for payment of the amount, £l3 6s 3d, or in default 14 days’ imprisonment, was made by consent, the order being suspended on payment of £1 every four weeks; Hape Falconer (Mr. Stock) v. Rawiri Karaha (Mr. Hei), order for £22 19s 6d, or 23 days’ imprisonment, to be suspended on payment of £5 down and £2 10s a month subsequently ; Jorgen Hoffins (Mr. Burnard) v. John Lewis Hoffins, order for £l6 17s 6d, or 17 days’ imprisonment.
