PREFERENCE TO GOVERNMENT BUSINESS. United Pukss Association— CorYßiau* MELBOURNE* Sept. 16. The House of Representatives, after a wrangling debate and the application of the closure, carried a resolution to give the Government business preference for the rest of the session. . Subsequently Mr Fisher, leader of the Labor party, carried a motion for adjournment of the House, against the Government, who were caught napping while trying to secure a count out. The Senate passed the Seamen’s Compensation Bill.
FEDERAL CAPITAL SITE. SYDNEY* Sept. 15. In the Assembly Mr Wade, tbe Premier, gave notice of hi® intention to move to surrender to the Commonwealth approximately 800 square miles at Yass and Canberra for tho Federal capital site. '
