WATERSIDE WORKERS’ UNION.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annftal general meeting of the Gisborne Waterside Workers’ Union wa s held in the shelter shed at the wharf last night. Mr. E. G. Cass (president) occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. The secretary read the annual report and balance-sheet, which were unanimously adopted. The balance-sheet showed the Union to. be possessed of a Substantial credit balance.

The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: — President, Mr. E. G. Cass (re-elected); vice-president, Mr. W. Taylor (re-elect-ed) ; treasurer, Mr. C. Matheson; secretary, Mr. G. Ansell (re-elected); executive, Messrs J. Alilin, J. Harding, J. Owen, J. Gooms, A. Ansell, W. 'Johnstone, J. Stevenson, and P. Mul'lane; trustees, Messrs C. Rogers and J. Harding; auditors, Messrs C. Gowland and P. Mullane.

A quantity of general business was transacted, and a strong committee was appointed to make arrangements for the representation of the Union in the Labor Day procession. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the outgoing officers, and the meeting terminated.
