AMERICAN BEEF SUPPLY.
United Phebu Association— CorymanT LONDON, Sept. 16. The “Times” New York correspondent reports that the number of cattle received at the various stockyards was a million below that of last year. The American Consul at Monte Video states that Americans who are independent of the beef trust are investigating the (possibilities of obtaining supplies from Uruguay. He calculates that it is possible to land South American beef in New STork at 61 cents per pound.
