HEADMASTER ENTERTAINED. [Feu Press Association.] NAPIER, Sept. 18. Mr. J. Thornton, headmaster of Te •Vute College was entertained at dinner vesterdav bv “Old Boys” of the College. Tbe Hon. A. T. Ngata presided, and among the guests were Mi. Justice Conner, Dr. Buck, M.P., and Dr Pom•iro,* The Chairman presented Mr. Tnorndon with an autograph album and :i substantial cheque on behalf of the ‘•Old Boys.” 'ilie Chairman eulogised Mi\ Thornton’s work on beha.f of the Maori race, and speeches in similar strain were also made by Mr. Justice Cooper and Dr. Buck.
