A DEFICIENCY IN TASMANIA. United Piiesb Association—Corviuom HOBART, Sept. 18. The Premier in his financial statement estimated, that the year would end with a deficiency of £60,218, making with the previous year’s deficiency £123,000. It as proposed to impose a super tax of one-fourth of the land tax, an income tax, and ability tax. It is anticipated that the financial stress w ill be much relieved under the new per capital revenue from the Commonwealth.

Bickerings over tho application of the closure are largely blocking tho business of the House of Representatives. The debate on the Finance Bill has been adjourned until Tuesday.
