THE RARAWA ENQUIRY. [Pbii Press Association. l AUCKLAND, Sept. 18. Mr Kettle, S.M., gave a reserved decision this morning, holding that the Court had jurisdiction in the Rarawa inquiry. Th© Court was satisfied, there had been material damage, and that the occurrence therefore came unOer section 233 of the Act, but to enable the parties to refer the question to the Supreme Court he would defer consideration of the question of liability for ten da vs. Both sides expressed a desire for the Court to give a decision without delay. Mr Kettle said he would deliver liis decision early next week. FEILDING A. AND P. HORSE PARADE. FEILDING. Sept, IS. For the Feilding Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s annual horse parade there was a large number of entries, and practically every stallion in the district took part. The Mayor presided, and in the course of an appreciative speech he referred to the excellent work done by Mr Dixon in sulxluiug the recent fire m the Westport Coal Company’s Millerton mine. A public meeting, attended mainly by clergymen, decided to protest against the City Council’s action in permitting band concerts for gain on Sundays.

Whyte (Havelock) and Dr Frank Dunlop (Invercargill) have been nominated for the vacant chair of apologetics and systematic theology in the Divinity Hall in connection with the Presbyterian Church.
