PEARY’S RESOLUTION DISCREDITED. Unitkd Press Askviuat'on— Copyright. LONDON, Sept. 17. Dr. Wilson, second medical officer and zoological artist on the Discovery, and medical officer on Captain Scott’s expedition, and Mr F. Drake, late of the Royal Navy, secretary of the expedition made by Captain Scott, discredits the story brought by the Labrador mailboat that Commander Peary and Captain Bartlett (of the Roosevelt) have decided to make an expedition to the South Pole, and have already collected a Far South equipment. Experts in New York also discredit the story. They consider that Commander Peary requires a long rest after the hardships of the North. PEARY WILL NOT ATTEMPT TO REACH THE POLE.
(Received September 19, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 18. Commander Peary declares that ho will not participate in any effort to reach the South Pole.
