SEVERE WEATHER.
HEAVY RAINFALL AT FEILDING. [Per Press Association'.] FEILDI.vG, Sept. 20. There has been heavy rain for the last three days, and the rivers and streams are rising. No damage has been reported so iar, though the leather is rough on the lambs. RAILWAY COMMUNICATION INTERRUPTED. PALMERSTON N., Sept. 20. Heavy rains have fallen to-day, but especially on the -watershed. The afternoon train from V'oodvil’.e got through. but after it had passed there was a'"big slip in the middle of the gorge, which came down in the midst of such heavy rain that the men were compelled to leave it. The train, which should have reached here_ from Dannevirke was stopped at Woodville. and the train from here to "Woodville returned from Ashhurst. As it is impossible to tell the extent of the damage at present, it is not known whether communication can be restored by the morning, and the slips are too bad for pasengers to be transferred. The rivers are rising.
