William Tumour, an organ grinder, claimant to the Poulett peerage, has died in Holborn workhouse. [The Poulett earldom was created in 1706. The present Earl, the seventh, is William John Lydston Poulett.] A LOAN OF £200,000. MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. The Savings Bank Commissioners have accepted tenders for a Credit Foncier loan of £200,000 at 3 i per cent. The average obtained was £96 0s 3d. THE FEDERAL CAPITAL. The Minister for Home Affairs predicts- that the' Parliament elected in 1913, will meet at the Federal capital. INSTITUTE OF TROPICAL MEDICINE. (Received September 22, 9.55 p.m.) BRISBANE, Sept. 22. Dr. Breene, late demonstrator in pathology and anatomy at Prague University, has been appointed the first director of the Australian Institute of Trpical Medicine, to be established at Townsville. THE QUEENSLAND TRAGEDY. The girl Proberts was shot through the thigh. Her condition is critical. After shooting the two women, Bradshaw awaited Sutherland’s return, shot him, and then rode to Croydon, breakfasted, and surrendered. The supposed cause of the crime is jealousy. Bradshaw told the police that he did tho shooting in a temper. A DESTROYER ASHORE.
