ENTERTAINMENTS
PATHE PICTURES. A diverting scries of scenes and subjects flickered smpothly across the screen at- His Majesty’s Theatre lastnight to the general satisfaction anti entertainment of the audience. A strong sporting interest was centred in the English Derby, and if one cou.d only have heard the odds shouted, and the roar of the crowds, the show would have been a fair substitute for a trip to Epsom. Going from sport to traced v the audience were shown a piece of ‘medieval fiction, “The Queen s Lovers,” and several, awe-inspiring yards of filmy fact depicting the Messina earthquake and its aftermath. '‘Love versus Duty' is an old subject that had a moderated modern and an eminently exciting setting and as usual, the humorous element was well in evidence. The audience laughed unsympathetically over, the misadventures of the" “Universal Fart ” smiled at the assiduity of “Mrs. Bonny s Suitors, and spent a very pleasant, evening g , er;1 llv. To-night the same .pictures will be shown again, and to-morrow a matinee and evening exhibition will see a complete change..as an entirely new assortment of subjects is to arm© tomorrow morning. _______
