PROTEST FROM METHODIST CONFERENCE COMMITTEE. [Per Press Association.l DUNEDIN, Sept. 23. At a meeting of the Methodist Conference Committee on Temperance and Public Morals to-day. the following motion was carried: “This committee joinsin the protest against having the dignity and morals of the whole Dominion associated with the opening of Tattersail’s Club, in spite of the spirit of recent legislation and of the fact that a verv large section of the public holds Tattersall’s in abhorrence. A motion was also carried protesting the granting of licenses in the King country .
