HIGHLAND EVENTS
[Per Pre"3 Association.! FEILDING, Sept. 25. At the annual meeting of the Feilding centre of the Athletic Union, it was decided to recommend the union conference to eliminate from the control of the union all Highland events, such being a continual source of trouble; it was recommended that the North Island Council appoint Feilding as their headquarters, and that similar arrangements be made by the South Island, the representatives of the two Councils to meet annually at Wellington. DUNEDIN, Sept. 25. . At a meeting of the Otago branch of the Pipers and Dancers’ Association of New Zealand to consider the action the association would take respecting the disagreement with the Athletic Union as to the control of piping and dancing. After a good deal of discussion all present resolved not to take part in any competitions held, by societies registered with the Athletic Union, and that circulars embodying the decision be issued to other branches of the association throughout the Dominion.
