CANTERBURY COLLEGE.
A NEW PROFESSORSHIP
[Per Press Association-! CHRISTCHURCH. Sept. 27. The Board of Governors of Canterbury College have decided, to invite applications for the position of Professor of Physics, and intend advertising in England and New Zealand. Ihe salary offered is £650 per annum, travelling expenses if the applicant is from England and is married will be allowed up to £l2O, and £BO if single. Applications from New Zealand candidates are to be forwarded to England for review by the selectors, who arc Professor Rutherford, the Hon. v\ . HaflJones (High Commissioner) and the Hon. W. Pember Reeves. Applications from New Zealand candidates must be in by October 18th, and the English candidates by December Ist, when the appointment will he made and the professor appointed will take up his duties.
