WOMAN TAKES “ROUGH ON RATS.”
[Per Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 30
About nine o’clock last evening a married woman named Lydia M. Dixon, residing with her husband in Hills Road, Richmond, was admitted to the hospital suffering seriously from the effects of poison administered by herself. It appeared she had been experiencing trouble of a domestic character lately, and last evening she drank a bottle and a half of “rough on rats.” Her father-in-law, upon discovering tho fact, communicated with the police and a doctor, who ordered the woman’s removal to tho hospital. She appeared to bo in great pain, and screamed violently and continually, both while being conveyed in a cab to the hospital and after admission. To-day it is reported that she is a little better and it is anticipated she will recover.
