The following is . .the. Rev. IK. CBates’ 'summary and forecast: 'Cloucly anl wet weather has prevailed, with moderate to strong northerly winds. The temperature has been high, and the atmosphere humid. The present indications are favorable to thunderstorms, which will probably take place before the winds change to the south-west, as may be expected after from 24 to 36 hours.. In the . meantime strong northerly winls and rain are probable generally. with heavy seas uorth of the East' Cape, between Castlepoint and JCaikoirra, and on the west coast of the South Island.
