CYCLING.
TIMA RU-CHRISTCHURCI J. R() A D RACE.
V R. Arnst, who is at present in Gisiiorno in the role of champion sculler of the world, was until about three years ago best known as a cyclist. As evidence that he has not entirely relinquished the latter branch of sport. Arnst has signified his intention of taking part in the Timaru-Christchurch road race, which takes place on October 30th. This race i* held annually to select the riders to represent New Zealand in the great Warrnamhool-Mel-bourne race in Australia. As illustrating the athletic proclivities of the Arnst family, it is interesting to note that no less than six of the brothers will take part in the race.
