Speaking at the Eight Hour banquet, Mr. Wade (State Premier) combating the assertion that the -Industrial Arbitration Act had struck a blow at unionism, quoted figures to show that in 1905 there were 137 unions in the State, and last year 153, with a very largely increased membership.--Mr. A. Fisher (ex-Federal Premier) claimed, in regard to industrialism, that the Labor party,had not once retracted its steps with any loss of dignity.
