ORDERS FOR OCTOBER. The company orders for October are as follows: —Parades: The squadron will parade, by troops, on Saturday, October 16, 1909, for exercise under, service conditions as follows: Gisborne troop, at M&karaka, at 2.30 p.m.; Te Karaka troop, at Lieut. Poynter’s residence, at 2.30 p.m.; Makauri troop, at Waerenga-a-hika, at 2.30 p.m. Syllabus of exercise: To ICaraka troop, under Lieut Poynter, will proceed a 3 may be ordered and form a line of Cossack posts to observe and delay advance of remaining troops from 1 ho direction (' Gisborne. The Makauri trncp will attack, being supported by i'-e Cistorne troop. Detail orders _ will be issued to troop leaders. On * omni dim cl ice manoeuvres the squadron w>h bivouac in the vicinity of Mr. R. Scott’s > Lhe Willows), and the following day will he further instructed in squa b- m dn'l, field firing, etc., till even vug, when troops will march to their respective headquarters. Orders : f dress: Marching order, service dress, with full I ; h. Attendance at this parade i s compulsory and absentees will be fined unless satisfactory reasons i->r at.s'nc© me given. Troop parades: There will not be any mounted parades during October, the squadron parade ordered above being held instead. Troops will parade, dismounted, as under: Gisborne troop, Tuesday, sth inst., as Garrison Hall, at 7.30 p.m. ; Thursday, 14th inst, at Patutahi Hall at 7.30 p.m.; Te Karaka troop as may be ordered by Lieut. Povnter; Makauri troop 1 uesday 12 October, at W T aerenga-a-lnka Hall at 7.30 p.m. Recruit drills will' be held at piaces as may be ordered by troop leaders. Non-com. officers are notified that their attendance at all parades and drills of their troop is necessary. Failure to comply with this order may lead to the cancellation of their appointments. New members: There are vacancies for ten members. Properly nominated applicants will be balloted for at parade on 16th inst. Applications to reach the officer commanding by the 13th inst. District class of instruction : Officers and non-coms, are reminded that the class will be held at the Garrison Hall from the 6th to the 9th October, each evening, at 7.30.—0. Hellier Evans, captain.
