[The late William Watson was born in 1843. He was head of the firm of Watson and Co., Liverpool, Watson and Hill, and Watson, Wood and Co., of Charleston, South Carolina, U.S.A., and Memphis, U.S.A., merchants, 18721902; chairman of the Cunard Steamship Company, Ltd.; chairman of the Royal Insurance Company.; director of the North and South Wales Bank.]
