ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE.

SUSPECT BEFORE THE COURT

Charles Hoggard, alias Clifford, alias Moate, who was arrested by Constable Dandy and Detective Rawle on Wednesday last, was brought before Mr. W A. Barton, S.M., at the Police Court, yesterday, and charged that on the 4th day of October he did rob John Mulligan, and immediately before such robbery did strike the said. John Mulligan. . Sergeant Hutton asked for a remand, and the hearing was accordingly postponed to the 15th inst. at 11.30. The prisoner asked about bail, but His Worship said he could not consider the question at present. The amount involved is £56, and the offence with which the accused is charged took place near Te Karaka.
