WRIGHT BROTHERS' INTENTIONS

The brothers Wright announce that neither will make a further exhibition of aeroplane flights. Both will devote their energies to the exploitation of their machines. Mr. Wilbur Wright goes to Washington to instruct officers of the Signal Corps to use the Government aeroplane.

THE GORDON-BENNETT CONTEST

(Received October 7, 11.35 p.m) ST. PETERSBURG, October 7.

Mr. Mix’s balloon, America No. 2, won the Gordon-Bennett contest, making a voyage of 1100 kilometres, landing north of Warsaw, where the Russian police arrested Mr. Mix. Twenty balloons started from Zurich.
