(To the Editor. ) Sir, —Alay I ask you to publ.sh this notification through your columns to all Crown tenants of the Hawke’s Bay Land District—that, in my opinion, as their representative on the Board, was assaulted and illegally ejected whilst in quiet performance of his duties, the Board thereby becomes illegally constituted and all business transacted in his absence was illegally transacted. Particularly would this refer to Air Kirk’s section on Te Arai, which was forfeited on Saturday while I was unwillingly absent. And, furthermore, will you allow me to announce hereby that until the. Chairman of the H.B. Land Board gives future assurance in the shape of a public apology to the tenants of the State whose privileges he has insulted and breached by forcibly ejecting their representative, I feel .it my dutv to them to absent myself from future Board meetings. And I feel that it is only proper to stats here that the reference, which I made to point my argument and for which I was ejected, was to a recommendation of the Board recorded in the August Minutes or the Board; which “recommendation” in mv opinion is based.cn Section 85 of Land Act 1908, and on the best legal authority that of Hoskens, which was obtained’by Mr Black over the grazing run business. Thereby would the tenants of the State be relieved from vexatious costs and delays and possible litigation which the Chairman suggested as their proper circumstances and which are the circumstances of Mr McLean, of Ti TreePoint, Dannevirke, to whim I referred. Thanking you in anticipation, and with the best of .good wishes to the, Men on the Land, from wealthy squatter to little dairy farmer for whom I have worked. —I am, etc., EUSTACE LANE. \ GAS VERSUS ELECTRICITY. (To the Editor.) Sir, —The above controversy is iairly amusing, but of very little irfterest, inasmuch as “Lux Light” simply knocks either of the above contestants out in one hit. AVe have one —only one-lamp in Victoria township, hut wouldn t exchange for a dozen gas lamps.—l am, etc., lIA- LUX.
