RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUSTRALIAN RIFLE ASSOCIATION MEETING. United Press Association —Copyright. (Received, October 11, 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 11. The rifle matches in which inter-State competitors' were engaged, commenced to-day in fine, cool weather. In the early stages of the Jubilee Match there was some good shooting. At the 600 range Merenzi and James, New Zealanders, and two. local men secured the possible. The wind became puffy when 700 yards range was fired a,nd most previous scores were sadly discounted. The practice of withholding the details of scores at the various ranges till the conclusion of the last range makes it impossible to obtain particulars till a late hour. (Received, October 12, 12.40 1 a.m.) The Jubilee Match was won by Mathews (Victoria) with a score of 100. Two local men were second and third with 99 and 98.
