A RISE ON ACCOUNT OF A RUMOR. United Press Association— Copyright. (Received October 14, 10.50 p.m) LONDON, October 14. Consols are quoted at 92 5-8, after having been 82 5-16. Conservative papers state that the rise was due to a strong rumor o n the Stock Exchange that Mr. Lloyd-George was resigning. The statement was untrue, hut was indicative of Mr. Lloyd-George’s unpopularity in financial and commercial circles.
