PERSONAL
A pleasant little function took place at the “cottage” of the Gisborne Hotel on Wednesday night when the members of the staff gathered together to say farewell to Mr Jack Law. who is severing his connection with the hot--I after six years service. On behalf of the staff Mr G. Neill presented Mr Law with a “gentleman’s companion” beautifully fitted, and in doing so referred to the popularity of the recipient with his fellow employees. A number of songs were sung and several of those present expressed their appreciation of Mr Law who, with Ids ready courtesy and cheery manner has made himself extremely popular with all whom he has come in contact with. After Mr Law had thanked his fellow employees the gathering terminated. Mr Law leaves Gisborne on Monday to take over the hotel at Waipiro Bay, and his many friends in Gisborne will doubtless wish him every success in his new sphere.
