PEARY’S STATEMENTS SCEPTICALLY RECEIVED. United Press Association— Copyright. \ NEW YORK, October 15. The “Morning Post’s” Washington correspondent states that a majority of the newspapers receive Commander Peary’s statement regarding the Eskimos with scepticism. Their evidence is regarded as showing little, if any, conviction. Meanwhile Dr. Cook is making 2000 dollars nightly in lecturing, and Commander Peary is making; nothing.
