FATAL RAILWAY OCCIDENT. rPini Pnicss Association.! AUCKLAND, Oct, 18. George Balme, storekeeper at Bombay, was driving across ai level crossing at Runciman on Saturday evening, when a goods train arriving from Auckland collided with the trap. The impact threw Balme out, and, falling on liis head, he was killed distantly. The trap was smashed and the horse fatallv injured. Balme was the only occupant of tho vehicle. He was driving to tlie station to meet his wife. FOUND DROWNED. In the case of the man Robert Frost, found drowned in a lagoon near Taupiri, most of his clothes were found on the bank. BODY FOUND IN AUCKLAND HARBOR. The body of Jas. Walter Bird, laundfvman, of Onchunga. missing tor about ’a week, was found in the harbor yesterday. * AN APPARENT SUICIDE. CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. IS. The bodv- of H. J. Duffell, laborer, was found on Pain’s Road, Sefton, early this morning, with a gunshot wound between the'.eyes and a gun close by. A letter in his pocket, addressed' to his wife, indicated his intention to commit suicide. .
