The following is the Rev. D. G. Bates’ weather summary and forecast : A low pressure of monsoonal type has prevailed over the North Island, with the lowest pressure off the East Cape, causing strong south-east winds, with cold and damp weather, especially on the east ecast of the North Island. The high pressure in the south has given place to a westerly low pressure system/with freshening northerlies. - Present indications are for unsettled weather generally, winds changing by south to westward over the North Island, with a slight rise in the barometer, preceding a further fall, and northerly and westerly winds over the South, Island. The . glass will probably fa.il low in the south, and the weather will be stormy for a few days.
